In other words - we have to pay attention but we are not in a crisis

The graph to the right is from the Social Security Trustee's 2007 report obtained from the US Treasury Link above. A key measurement  is the 100% highlighted line which signifies when yearly money collected equals the money dispersed in the programs.

Note the Hospital Insurance (HI)  starts depleting the reserve after 2013 and depletes the reserve about 2018. Hence according to this chart the real problem is for Medicare Part A is about 2020
